Building a Clay Oven in the Backyard

This entry is dedicated to the birth of Big Bill my clay oven. He is very much a part of my family now, after two years of his wonderful existence in my backyard. I hope this post will inspire many of you to built a clay oven in your backyard – it is such a wonderful way to cook and entertain! (Click here to see what I cook with it!)

  3. Will 3 cm of firebricks over a 2 cm layer of vermiculite work? Or might the firebrick layer be too thin to keep the heat in ?
