Mt Oakden is on the north west end of Lake Coleridge. It is untracked so if you are going to attempt it, make sure you study the topo map first and are confident with your back country navigation skill. The return trip takes 6-8 hours starting from the north west end of the lake. I think it is fair to say the shingle spree slopes are steep when I didn’t really need to bend down to touch the ground 😉
If you’d like a less strenuous climb, the nearby Peak Hill is a little gem.
