Five Peaks and The Gap

One ambitious Saturday, we set off early from Porter’s Pass and climbed briskly up to Foggy Peak.

Onward to Castle Hill Peak, with a grand view of our peak-hopping, ridge traverse for the day.

Then there was The Gap.

Tom abseiled down the 50m or so drop, while Kiwi Bird and I walked down the scree and around.

On the other side of The Gap, we found a way and scrambled to the top to continue our way to Red Peak.

Junction Peak followed Red Peak, and sits roughly half way in distance on our circuit. Looking back at the way we came from Junction Peak, there’s Foggy Peak, Castle Hill Peak, and Red Peak. The Gap is hidden in this view between Castle Hill Peak and Red Peak.

Four Peaks down, with Mt Torelesse still to go before we can enjoy a well earned BBQ dinner with more friends.

Looking at The Gap on our descent from Mt Torelesse.
