Big Bill

Hello and Welcome!

I’m Imported Kiwi with a clay oven in my backyard living on that far away land called New Zealand.

My clay oven is called Big Bill. He has a name because he has a soul. Same reason why people don’t just call their cat “cat”.

My husband (aka Kiwi Bird) and I built Big Bill in late 2009. He has an awesome soul! You really should check him out!

This blog is about the things I love out in the sun. Mostly cooking with Big Bill, my garden, rock climbing and tramping (that’s what we call hiking in New Zealand, and for good reason too!).

  1. Hey. Nice blog….sounds like you like similar stuff to us. We have a pizza oven which is the center of many parties. It usually gets fired up about once a week or so in summer and then every now and again in winter. We haven’t been able to eat bought pizza since we built our baby (4 yrs ago.)

Hope you get hold of some passion fruit. It really is a delicious recipe.

Must go… tonight we are having pan fried trout….mmmmmmm

    • Thanks 🙂 Mmmmm pan fried trout~

Big Bill is only about 2.5 years old. We don’t quite fire him up as much as you do but I tend to cook a truck load every time I fire him up 🙂

  2. I could not have found your blog at a worse time. I am starving. I have been looking through the pictures, dribbling with envy.
But, what a fantastic blog! Can’t wait to follow along! xxx
